Jean-marc FORAX

Jean-Marc Forax saw movies. It would remembers. Especially when he closes his eyes. When it stops moving. So anything can begin. In
video devices that have everything to do with fascination, he projected in slow motion on the charcoal drawing of a frame, the sequence where the frame is extracted. The image trembles, the image lives, not the reproduction of life but the life of their own images, you enter a hypnotic time.

facilities Jean-marc Forax take the audience to his own understanding of the essence of the filmmaking process while shoving the perception of time and attention. The design comes alive
? Moving images are frozen? From his point of view, none of this: it creates a ghost image, games of light and shadow, a staging of this feeds into his life and his visual practice: the pervasively present scenes of cinema, and death, which seem to hide in them.

Frédérique Roussel / Writer, Journalist at the newspaper Liberation / under exposure Young Designers 2010

A minimalist work on the comparison of brief events, silence and sounds frozen, you can play with and our perception of the passage of time. Sounds, just made, already belong to the past and leave traces in our memory. Sound design that accompanies the work reinforces the antagonism between fixation and movement.
