February 26, 1791, pursuant to the Act of May 14, 1790, the Management Board of "The District Chateigneraye" was selling areas and dependencies of the cure and the Priory of "Puy Belliard.
The day before the auction, six inhabitants of this parish had agreed to acquire all these properties and then to share them by lot. To finalize their agreement, they signed the document reproduced below:
One of them Charles Bernard, husband of Marie Bailly, award was made, with 17,700 books, various commodities. Drawn payable in twelve equal installments, the money was paid regularly assignats March 17, 1791, 8 March 1792, February 21, 1793 and December 21, 1793. The settlement will resume on 1 st February 1796. As balance, it was settled June 7, 1811, twenty years after the award, by Alexis BERNARD (husband of Louise Jeanne Marie Modeste GABORIT then BILLON), the son of Charles, and Pascal GRENON, his son who had married Mary Anne Bernard, sister of Alexis.
