It's called the art of schmoozing. Activate your social networks The latest snub the diehards who are now taking a big risk, not necessarily well measured. Because with 14 million Facebook friends, 2 million members Viadeo and 1 million members on LinkedIn, this new type of sourcing has definitely invaded the HR landscape. "The networks provide a true three-dimensional snapshot while a CV simply provides a caricature in black and white," observes one recruiter. " profiles provide information on the course and the interrelationship that the individual spins with their environment. The aggregation of this data stream provides a picture far more efficient when it comes to gauging the abilities and personality authors. "Is there a risk to expose themselves on networking platforms? Nay, says the headhunter. "Today the greatest danger is to sell off his resume on sites low end. The strategy is demeaning and cons-productive. It highlights the lack while to properly manage his career, he must communicate subtle and arouse the desire to be found. " Merely being a member is not sleeping enough: he must refine his profile because it is often the first impression the recruiter has of you. We must make it as convincing a good CV: Information well prioritized, clear and dynamic formulations. Remember, finally, that recruiters consider candidates also on their social network: if you only have two friends on Viadeo or three contacts on LinkedIn, it's time to increase the demands matchmaking. Tweet Increasingly recruitment agencies appear on Twitter, and the Headhunters, who come as individuals. It is indispensable to identify those who recruit in your area and follow them (become their follower) by registering on their page. Note: Some large firms also publish job offers. Directory Twellow, the equivalent of yellow pages for Twitter, will help you identify professionals in the industry.
This is particularly interesting that some jobs (especially those involving more technical profiles in the Web universe) are appearing on Twitter, you'll be competing with fewer candidates. On Facebook, some recruitment firms have created groups. Become a fan by joining them so their pages for keep abreast of their ads.
Treat your online reputation Currently, candidates can easily find information about their businesses less institutional targets, via forums, blogs and social networks. But the reverse is also true. Car companies often have access to private data suggest that the candidates casually hanging out on the Web ... at their peril. "In this society
of image management, it is very important to make a separation between personal and professional social networks, and enable all security settings around the privacy, "says François Meulemen, HR consultant and trainer in technical aggressive job search." This is not a virtual threat, discrimination in recruitment have already been reported in the "United States following Facebook profiles open to all winds. "
Create your blog
And if," google "your name on the Internet, your future employer debouched not on your last picture fiestas watered in Ibiza, but more conveniently on your blog professional ? A good way to boost your online reputation by posing as a major specialist sector. "The Net can become a beautiful showcase for those who can use it cleverly, "Meuleman says François. " By sharing your information, monitoring and analysis of your peers and colleagues, you demonstrate your competence and value added. And you create professional link with little effort. "Make
buzz " To stand out, managers should communicate their image, to the buzz around their skills on the networks they are members, "Francis insists Meuleman. " As a researcher employment, share your expertise in generating documents that you put online available to businesses. Be present on sensitive topics and post memos Slideshare. This will create traffic around your name and, unwittingly, you will increase your ranking, "the consultant suggests. Participation in round tables and other concrete events, blogs, responses to the press as many ways to increase its diversion visibility for better detection.
Ultimate goal: to stimulate recovery by a third party. For it is always better than another boasts your qualities, your reference publications or achievements. In a roundabout way, candidates use several avatars 2.0 (virtual personalities mails or alternative).
These different identities, as they are fictitious, allow them to interfere in the social networks of recruiters. The maneuver has its downside, however. No more than successes, blunders and inconsistencies escape the radar of search engines. "Forewarned is forearmed," recalls Francis Meuleman. "More than ever, everyone should watch what they say about him regularly by typing its name into Google."

Do you know the "schmoozing"? Published December 20, 2007 by Marc Traverson The art of conversation is not given to everyone. And he navigate at ease at cocktail parties, meetings and other public meetings, either. I know something, having some difficulty to survive in this kind of situations I also tend to flee. The word schmoozing
does sound fun, and could well, for that, be remembered. Schmooze, verb fun to recycle a concept as old as the world, was revived today by Susan Roane
and blogger Guy Kawasaki . Schmooze is quickly establish professional contacts, find its way into the crowd of anonymous, ie "break the ice" with elegance and cultivate relationships ... This particular talent, which is basically nothing else than the art of being at ease in society, I call it as
grooming. You'll see it down a notch in the scale of evolution. The
grooming is the art of tickling our cousins in higher primates, chimpanzees, monkeys, gorillas, etc.. One example of mutual grooming, which is a way to get closer to each other on minor issues, for exchange of small services. Strategic moment! In enterprises, the grooming is done much around water points - I named the coffee machine. That's where you renew ties, which is dissipated and the discomfort that can resolder the community. As Homo sapiens is a being of language, and that grooming is no longer practiced much, we have substituted the discussions on the weather, various jokes, and peddling rumors (the Anglo-Saxons, who as I see the genius of the form, talk about small talk

networking, you maintain your network. Of art and how to establish and maintain weak ties , which are known to be most successful in opening new career opportunities. Schmooze, like the rest can be learned ...

The Summer Schmooze Summary: It’s Beyond Small Talk

Yes, schmooze is everywhere in the news. I get daily google alerts when it appears in newspapers around the world. It’s Yiddish and it means easy -going, relaxed conversation. It does NOT mean “making business contacts” nor does it mean “sales success”. Can good conversation lead to both? OF COURSE! The best of business relationships starts with small talk--- the little things that begin the schmoozing --- and turns the verbal exchange into valued communication.

Some very confused people who are not familiar with the definition of schmooze misunderstand and misuse what it is as well as miss the essence. People connect to us via our common interests, experiences, issues and stories. Our words, responses and our visual /non- verbal reactions show that we are LISTENING. It starts with small talk that, with on-going interest in what your conversational partner is saying, turns into BIG TALK.

These days you can’t pick up a paper or journal and NOT read about schmoozers and people who are working the rooms of their life. We all need to do it and we must do it better. The goal is to do to so SINCERELY in order to build relationships and the trust that builds business.

The best of conversationalists read, pay attention to what is going on in their communities, companies, neighborhoods and the world. They have charm, are engaging and make us feel at ease. The next time you meet one of those special people… observe:

what they do,

what they say,

what they DON’T say

how they respond.

Watch them LISTEN. You may notice that the best listeners lean in to hear better. They never look as if they are planning a grocery list or ‘waiting their turn’. These are great people to imitate which, in this case, is a sincere form of flattery.

Listen to them speak. The best conversationalists do not merely ask a barrage of questions and appear to be prying. They also share stories, insights and ideas because they do listen and like people. Be very leery of lists of questions provided by some so –called experts as “ideal ice-breakers” for small talk. Too many of the questions suggested are invasive, personal and give the impression that you have gone to the school of “Canned Conversation” ®

What Do I Say Next?

provides a practical and thorough guide to starting, maintaining and ending connected conversation so that you schmooze and win---jobs, business and most importantly: friends.
